This week, Emma and I bring the Sex 2.0 conference to you with a special show featuring a collection of short interviews recorded live at the conference! Say hello to Sex 2.0 conference organizers Clea and Zephyr, as well as Allena Gabosch, Executive Director of the Center for Sex Positive Culture (CSPC), which was one of the primary organizing bodies. We spoke to our new friend Koe the Valkyrie, fellow podcasters Graydancer of the Ropecast and Cunning Minx of Poly Weekly, friends of the show David Phillips, Megan Andelloux of The CSPH, and many more sex-positive individuals about their experiences at the conference. Reid Mihalko, who we hope will join us next week for a full conversation, shares some of his tips for handling media attention, and I talk at length about the value of transparency and collaboration in doing Whatever It Is That You Do.

We had an absolute blast at Sex 2.0 this year, and would like to thank everyone who graced us with a brief interview, but especially the amazing folks at the CSPC. Not only were they a big part of making the conference possible, but they threw an awesome after party in which we encountered a vulva-shaped marzipan cake topping. (Really.) For more coverage of Sex 2.0, be certain to peruse the Twitter #Sex20 hashtag stream, and of course, please keep sending feedback for Kink On Tap via iTunes.

Joined once again this week by the brilliant and enthusiastic (if somewhat under-caffeinated) Sarah Dopp, the creator of Genderfork, we broadcasted on-location from the San Francisco Women’s Building. The show was hot on the heels of the wonderful KinkForAll San Francisco unconference—so hot, in fact that we didn’t even leave the venue! Our discussion ranged from the sublime to the ridiculous to the poignant and difficult, as we reflected on some of the presentations at KinkForAll San Francisco with a few of the unconference participants who stayed to watch the show in person.

Also new this week, the proposal for SexEdEverywhere (“SEE”) that Emma and I submitted to the International Women’s Health Coalition Young Visionaries contest earned enough votes to qualify for the finals! We got more than 730 votes, and we would like to sincerely thank everyone who voted for our IWHC Young Visionaries contest entry as well as those who spread the word about our idea. It’s now solely up to the IWHC judges to determine which of the finalists will win the grant.

Wish us luck, and keep listening to Kink On Tap to learn how you can get involved in the future! And, as an aside, I want to apologize for the delay in getting this episode published. <itunes:summary>Japanese fertility festivals have men struggling to lift giant vaginas (http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/japan/100315/japan-penis-japanese-vaginas?page=0,0), anti-choice Colorado crazies may have falsified petitions in attempts to define eggs as people (http://www.rhrealitycheck.org/blog/2010/03/19/resurrected-eggasaperson-initiative-could-make-ballot) (no, really, eggs as people), a new study shows abusive men vastly overestimate abuse statistics (http://thecurvature.com/2010/03/19/abusive-men-overestimate-the-rate-at-which-other-men-abuse/), a guide to selling your undies online (http://www.brokelyn.com/how-to-sell-your-underwear-online/) wants you to be judging the people you sellin' 'em to, and a federal court finally reasons that you can't be both victim and perpetrator of child pornography.

Joined once again this week by the brilliant and enthusiastic (if somewhat under-caffeinated) Sarah Dopp (https://twitter.com/sarahdopp), the creator of Genderfork (http://Genderfork.com/), we broadcasted on-location from the San Francisco Women's Building (http://womensbuilding.org/). The show was hot on the heels of the wonderful KinkForAll San Francisco unconference (http://wiki.kinkforall.org/KinkForAllSanFrancisco)—so hot, in fact that we didn't even leave the venue! Our discussion ranged from the sublime to the ridiculous to the poignant and difficult, as we reflected on some of the presentations at KinkForAll San Francisco (http://wiki.kinkforall.org/KinkForAllSanFranciscoSchedule) with a few of the unconference participants who stayed to watch the show in person.

Also new this week, the proposal for SexEdEverywhere ("SEE") (http://sexedeverywhere.com/) that Emma and I submitted to the International Women's Health Coalition Young Visionaries contest earned enough votes to qualify for the finals! We got more than 730 votes, and we would like to sincerely thank everyone who voted for our IWHC Young Visionaries contest entry (http://blog.iwhc.org/2010/02/meitar-moscovitz-and-emma-gross/) as well as those who spread the word about our idea. It's now solely up to the IWHC judges to determine which of the finalists will win the grant.

Wish us luck, and keep listening to Kink On Tap to learn how you can get involved in the future! And, as an aside, I want to apologize for the delay in getting this episode published (http://KinkOnTap.com/?p=551). The cause of the delay was a frightening and vicious attack on me personally as well as KinkForAll (http://kinkforall.org/) as an idea. I encourage you to follow my personal blog for updates on this issue (http://maybemaimed.com/2010/03/24/the-salvation-army-incites-personal-attacks-against-me-a-blog-reply/).</itunes:summary>

Finally, as a reminder, please take the time to help us get 1,000 votes for our SexEdEverywhere IWHC Young Visionaries proposal (http://blog.iwhc.org/2010/02/meitar-moscovitz-and-emma-gross/) and help empower young people to share their own sexual health knowledge with a single click! Also with a single click, hop on over to Kink On Tap's show page on iTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=348141388) and give us a rating. Better yet, tell us what you think of the show by writing a short review, and if you have a blog or website of your own, share Kink On Tap with your visitors with our new sidebar promo buttons (http://kinkontap.com/?page_id=494)!</itunes:summary>

Christening the just-opened Center for Sexual Pleasure and Health in Pawtucket, RI with a small bottle of champaign, this week we celebrate two auspicious events: Megan Andelloux’s success opening the CSPH, and the resounding success of KinkForAll Providence! And, in a Kink On Tap first, we broadcasted on-location with “Oh” Megan herself, and Aida Manduley, Chair of the Sexual Health Education and Empowerment Council at Brown University, and co-unorganizer of KinkForAll Providence along with Emma.

Also this week, CBS advertises its own hypocrisy by airing one-sided partisan ads during the Superbowl, Admiral Mullen knows DADT makes men like Senator McCain into mice, Paul Scott thinks discriminating against transgendered people is good for Michigan, the DoD wises up about its female officers’ reproductive rights, and Hallmark tries to buffer rough economic times by sexing up its line of children’s toys.

On a meta note, we had a little bit of trouble with the recording this time because, as you’ll hear, a very loud heater in the ceiling of the CSPH switched on and off during the show. Maymay did his best to remove all the noise that caused, but, being amateurs, we couldn’t get the best audio possible. We hope it still sounds good enough. We had a great time and hope you’ll enjoy listening in, too!

Let’s stop calling these people “men’s rights activists” and start calling them what they are: anti-equality activists.

This week, we had the immense pleasure of being joined by the always-thoughtful Viviane, head honcho of Viviane’s Sex Carnival for the third time, as well as the inimitable interviewer and fellow sexuality podcaster Unspeakable Axe, host of the awesome Masocast! <itunes:summary>United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton speaks up for Internet freedom (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jose-antonio-vargas/internet-freedom-hillary_b_431830.html), a pleasant surprise considering that a California School District banned dictionaries for containing a reference to 'oral sex' (http://www.pe.com/localnews/menifee/stories/PE_News_Local_W_sdictionary22.414bdf0.html). Meanwhile, Chinese exporters continue to flood US store shelves with dangerous counterfeit condoms (http://www.latimes.com/news/nation-and-world/la-fg-china-condoms21-2010jan21,0,3174579.story), OKCupid busts 4 myths of Internet dating profile pictures (http://blog.okcupid.com/index.php/2010/01/20/the-4-big-myths-of-profile-pictures/), psychiatrists want the DSM V to label you—yes, even you—mentally ill for your sexual tastes, and bigoted, so-called "men's rights activists" (MRA) groups call Haiti womens' relief efforts sexist (http://www.alternet.org/blogs/world/145233/sexist_backlash_against_gender-responsive_aid_in_haiti_shows_some_men_really_don%27t_get_it/). Let's stop calling these people "men's rights activists" and start calling them what they are: anti-equality activists.

This week, we had the immense pleasure of being joined by the always-thoughtful Viviane, head honcho of Viviane's Sex Carnival (http://thesexcarnival.com/) for the third time, as well as the inimitable interviewer and fellow sexuality podcaster Unspeakable Axe (http://unspeakableaxe.com/), host of the awesome Masocast (http://Masocast.com/)! If you don't yet know about it, the Masocast shows up right next to Kink On Tap in iTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=348141388) for some searches and features personal interviews with some of New York City's most colorful characters from its BDSM Scene. In fact, I was on one of the show's early episodes talking about KinkForAll (http://masocast.com/2009/04/26/kink-for-all/).

In our first netcast of 2010, Emma and I are joined by two amazing people we met at previous KinkForAll events. The inimitable Mr. Jack Stratton, erotic fiction connoisseur and author whose analysis of some of my favorite niche genres like yaoi is always worth a listen, tells us about his new smut fiction curation project, New Vicious Circle. Also, eloquent feederism blogger Molly Ren teaches us a little bit about her particular fetish and describes a little about what it’s like to go from feeling total isolation and hopelessness to the embrace of an open-minded community.

Also, we’ve made some improvements to our own link curation process; now you can see and instantly add links to topics for upcoming shows. Over in the sidebar of KinkOnTap.com, you’ll find a new “Community links feed” section which you can push links to in a variety of ways, or subscribe to it yourself to see what others are suggesting. We also want to take the opportunity to thank everyone for continuing to donate to our budget for the show over the past week to help cover the unexpected costs from the untimely death of May’s laptop, and we hope you continue to donate whatever you can offer. And finally, a quick shout-out to Gnosisseeker for writing the first review of Kink On Tap on iTunes! Thanks for the wonderful review!
